This silk tapestry is the biggest silk tapestry we have at moment. The dimension of this silk tapestry is 2.5 by 36ft. It is the 500lines silk tapestry. The design is from the famous Chinese scroll “Qing Ming Shang He Tu”, which was painted by Zhang Zeduan in the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). The painting is 24.8cm high and 528.7 cm wide, which depicts the beautiful scenery of the capital city Bianjing (today’s Kaifeng). There are over 500 characters from different social classes and numerous shops, restaurants painted on the picture. The whole picture reflects the prosperity of the capital city of Northern Song Dynasty. It has very high historical and artistic value. This silk tapestry is based on the material of the original picture. The artisans fully exert their wisdom and techniques to weave the picture on silk tapestry.
